In honor of Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month, the SBA Houston District and SCORE Houston Chapter, a resource partner of the SBA, will host a lunch and learn Small Business Tax workshop. Learn the tools that will enable you to make decisions about:

Independent contractors vs. employees
Choice of business entity
Legal liability
Which accounting reports and tax forms are required
When the paperwork is due
Texas franchise taxes
Estimated taxes
Retirement plans

The event is targeted at entrepreneurs over the age of 50 to link “encore entrepreneurs” with community resources for advice and assistance. SBA and SCORE will provide the training and mentoring services encore entrepreneurs need to successfully start and grow businesses and create jobs. Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month is part of a larger effort by SBA and AARP to promote entrepreneurship among individuals ages 50 and older.
